After agreeing to meet Bianca for a coffee, Sydney reluctantly rose from her bed, and headed over to her still unpacked suitcase. She’d been back at Northwood for a day already, but hadn’t wanted to begin the dreaded task of unpack her clothes, only to have to repack a new set of clothes for Canada the next day. Unzipping her suitcase, Sydney just picked up all of her clothes and threw them onto her bed. Seeing as she’d washed them all before she’d left the Bahamas, ready for Canada, she only had to pick what she wanted to wear. Running her eyes along her bedspread which was littered with clothes, Sydney selected a cream lace top with a pair of Levi shorts and nude pumps. She quickly replaced her pajama shorts and baggy t-shirt with her chosen clothes and checked her reflection in the mirror. Satisfied, she released her hair from the bun she had slept with and brushed it down her back, leaving it as it was already wavy and applied a minimal amount of makeup. She slipped her feet into her pumps, and threw her phone and purse into her bag before pushing her sunglasses onto her head and exiting the dorm. Sydney was excited to be meeting up with Bianca, as although she’d loved the Bahamas, it was nice to be in the company of someone different. Three weeks is a long time in the same place with the same people, so Sydney was grateful for the amount of time she had in Northwood before heading up to Canada with Eve, even if it was short. Last time Sydney had met up with Bianca, neither of them had been particularly happy, so pushing open the glass doors to Starbucks, she hoped it would be different this time around. She immediately noticed the brunette sat at a table, with a seat opposite her saved for Sydney. ‘Hey, you.’ she grinned, bending down to give her a quick hug. ‘I’m just going to order a drink, I’ll be two seconds.’ she told her as she proceeded to walk over to the counter and order an iced latte, heading over the correct change to the cashier. Once she collected her drink, Sydney made her way back over to the table Bianca had chosen, sitting down opposite her and crossing her legs. ‘So,’ she began, taking a small sip from her drink. ‘How have you been?’
When Sydney came through the doors, Bianca slightly got up from her chair and waved at the blonde with a smile. She returned the hug and sipped at her drink while Sydney ordered. “Great to see you back,” Bianca said with a genuine smile when Sydney sat down opposite her. “I’ve been pretty good, it’s always nice to have a break from the burden of school work.” She replied with a small laugh. “But speaking of school work,” she paused to take a sip of her refreshing drink, “I’ve been looking into some opportunities for summer studies abroad, some cities in Europe offer art courses for a couple of weeks. I’ve always wanted to travel so it would be amazing to see some of Europe and work on my art at the same time.” She smiled at the thought of the adventures she could have, but bit her lip after a few moments. “I’d have to check with my parents though, about the cost, about being so far away…” She laughed to herself and smiled, her optimism kicking back in. “I hope it works out though.” She took another sip of her drink. “So, tell me about you!” She exclaimed, “How were the Bahamas!? And then Canada so quickly after, you are just cosmopolitan.”

- Sydney: Thank you! Ok, sounds good. :)

After responding to Sydney’s text, Bianca shut her laptop and hopped off her chair. She had been looking into opportunities for abroad programs in Europe during the summer. European cities seemed to abound with artistic history. After flipping through her journal and reading her recent entries, Bianca had realized how far away she seemed from who she had been just a few months ago. Her normally optimistic self had been sinking in pessimistic quicksand. She decided to forget about guys - or try to - for the remainder summer and do something she had long wanted to do: travel, combining it with her passion for art. She would love to sit outside the Roman Colosseum and sketch it, bringing to life the long years it withstood despite its imperfections, or to sit on the Charles Bridge in Prague and try to capture the mystical beauty of the castle’s gentle glow. She would come back to Northwood in the fall her normal self, optimistic and looking forward to the new school year, taking whatever opportunities came her way, but not going out of her way to search for something that clearly wasn’t there. Bianca put on a loose off-white flowy top and paired it with black denim shorts. She glanced out the window, squinting at the sun’s bright glare, and decided to grab her sunglasses. She tied her hair up into a loose bun, slid her feet into worn rubber flip flops, tossed her wallet, keys, and phone into her purse, and was out the door. Hoping to start off the upcoming school year at Northwood completely comfortable and at ease, Bianca had been working on familiarizing herself with the campus and its surroundings for the past few weeks, so it took her less time than usual to get to Starbucks. Though the route had been relatively short, the summer heat was unrelenting and Bianca was relieved to walk into air-conditioned Starbucks. She skimmed the crowd for Sydney, but didn’t see the blonde. Seeing as the line was pretty short, she ordered her usual summer drink - Iced Tea Lemonade - and sunk into a comfortable arm chair as she sipped it. She placed her purse on the chair next to her to reserve the spot for Sydney.
- Sydney: Hey, you. I'm back at Northwood now. Fancy getting a coffee or something, again?
- Bianca: Welcome back! :) Of course, I'll meet you there?

Yeah, I kind of hope to make this a summer of travel whether it’s roadtrips or abroad. :) It’s on the bucket list for sure! What do you plan on doing when you get back?
Ahhh, you’re like the first person I’ve met who has a bucket list! Steven said I was the only one! I’m going back home to Canada with Eve for the weekend, as we’re both from there. We have to meet before I go though!
